A child should feel safe by knowing they might trust their parents together with God. We flood our children with all kinds of idols and images. You might say, ” But they’re small children and they’ll grow out of it”. Will they? Mid-section you? We might have become up but only to different toys and idols.
Inspiration-why do we need certain things to encourage us? Are we so weak that we need religious articles and or music to move us before we may well worship God? Do we need a painting or some sort of chunk of wood shaped like a cross, or plaster and paint formed for an image to inspire us? If you look at these materials, they are man produced. These items cannot bring us closer to God, only retard our spiritual growth. If God wanted us to make use of such items, then why did He give us the second commandment? When we paint Goodness or Jesus onto some canvas or on a ceiling within a humanly image, we are bringing them down to our level. This is placing some sort of limit on God and God cannot be limited. God is not in our image, we need to return to His image by way of Jesus Christ.
God’s enjoy and His creation should be enough to inspire people to worship and glorify Him. ” You shall not bow as a result of them or serve them”. We do have a whole lot of gods out there available. Unfortunately, not all serve or bow down to the one true Goodness. We place the things we serve above Our god. The truth lies in your heart and mind together with soul. Who or what people serve determines whether ones soul is dead or even alive and whether it will live or die. Everything that is written here is just a brief summary involving God’s first and 2nd commandment. It’s up to that you explore these two commandments in quest of deeper truth. You ought to explore your mind and your heart to see where you are supposedly at and what false gods you will be worshipping. Gazing upon material items and serving them to boot is not pleasing to God, it only angers Him. Hebrews 10: 31, It is a dreadful thing to fit in the hands of this living God.
